CELEBRATING 120 YEARS OF
HOTEL IMPERIAL REFORMA

HISTORY

Being the precursor of skyscrapers in Mexico, the Imperial Reforma Hotel was built in 1896 at the request of the then president of Mexico Porfirio Díaz Mori, who spearheaded its inauguration in 1904.

Its French-style architecture distinguishes, to this day, its elegance and beauty on one of the main avenues of the capital of Mexico.

Between 1930 and 1932, film director Sergei Eisenstein stayed during the filming of ¡Que viva México!

In 1937 it left its functions as a hotel to serve as the diplomatic headquarters of the Japanese embassy.

In 1956 it was remodeled and renamed the "Francis" hotel.

In 1989, the clock that decorates and accompanies the hotel with the same aesthetics and distinction was inaugurated.

Today, the Imperial Reforma Hotel has the prestige of being a historic building representative of Mexico. Where, all kinds of characters in the world of entertainment such as Mario Moreno "Cantinflas", Orson Wells, Sergei Eisenstein, as well as in sports and politics, have left their marks and found inspiration within its walls.
